Senior Mechanical Engineer

Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead our studio team.

Are you a senior mechanical engineer with building system design experience?

Responsibilities:

Be a strategic thinker, a project leader, a firm collaborator, and an employee mentor

  • Design HVAC building systems including chiller plants and air distribution systems to meet clients’ mission critical reliability and operational demands.
  • Lead client relationship and communications
  • Lead external design team coordination 
  • Lead internal mechanical staff: supervise, train, mentor
  • Lead collaboration with internal cross disciplines
  • Cultivate client relationship and communications
  • Perform QA/QC
  • Manage all project and employee conflict to resolution
  • Network and develop new business
  • Strategically contribute to overall firm goals
  • Be a kW MCE culture advocate
  • Be an industry thought leader and role model

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 8+ years mechanical systems design experience
  • Technical leadership
  • Knowledge of building and energy codes
  • P.E. preferred or in-process for licensing
  • AutoCAD and/or Revit experience
  • Big picture mindset, able to see full project mission, not just your discipline
  • Ability to listen to client vision, engage with design team members, lead team, and drive project beyond expectations
  • Communication and collaboration skills
  • Responsiveness, commitment, and integrity

Job responsibilities for Experienced Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer:

  • Design plumbing systems and fire protection systems to meet clients’ mission critical reliability and operational demands.
  • Calculate water, gas, sewer, and storm loads for utility coordination
  • Develop system concepts and specifications
  • Generate drawings and reports

  • Revit experience
